About the Internship
Below is info on general intern responsibilities and specific internship positions' duties. Each section was written by the respective Chairs and thus will vary in content and specificity. If there are any questions pertaining to a specific position, please email the respective Chair, whose name and email can be found in their sections.
General Intern Duties
- Attend and help coordinate APSA’s Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference (APAAC) on Saturday January 14, 2017 from 8:00AM to 6:00PM
- Attend weekly hour-long board meetings organized by the President (time TBD)
- Assist in the preparation and organization of all APSA events, including but not limited to: APAAC, Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM), School of Consciousness workshops, etc.
- Develop connections with APSA Constituents: Chinese Association, Tomo no Kai, etc.
- Participate in at least three APSA or APSA-affiliated fundraisers per quarter
- Attend weekly hour-long general meetings which include half-hour critical theory workshops called School of Consciousness (time TBD)
- Attend weekly hour-long board meetings organized by the President (time TBD)
- Assist in the preparation and organization of all APSA events, including but not limited to: APAAC, Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM), School of Consciousness workshops, etc.

- Participate in at least three APSA or APSA-affiliated fundraisers per quarter

Programs Internship
1) The Programs Coordinators work together to plan and execute high-profile events to promote Asian Pacific Islander activism and social justice on campus. The highlights of the coordinators' responsibilities include (1) the annual Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference (APAAC) to be held on January 24, 2015; (2) Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM) held throughout Spring Quarter; and (3) the annual Always Chase Your Dreams (ACYD) Talent Benefit Show to be held on April 16, 2014.
2) Intern description: Programs Interns play a vital role in all event and conference planning, of which includes both internal and external duties. Although interns' responsibilities will be tailored to match their interests and capabilities, most of their tasks involve helping the Programs Coordinators with logistics, publicity and outreach, funding/fundraisers, and generally helping out at the planned events overall.
Interns are expected to attend and contribute to the three aforementioned events, in addition to adhere to the general APSA intern requirements.
Please note that much of the program planning takes place behind the scenes -- this can include but is not limited to: preparation meetings during days before the events, clean up after the events, and perform interspersed assigned tasks throughout the year. However, interns will also have the opportunity to plan and execute their own events if they wish.

Constituent Council Internship
As a constituent council intern, you will be expected to assist the constituent council chair in all APSA and Constituent Council matters. Your main duties are as follows:
- Attend and take notes at every constituent council meeting. (We will schedule them so that you can make them)
- Assist with the planning and running of APAAC
- Help plan the quarterly Constituent Council events
- Outreach and maintain good standing relationships with all the APSA constituents and its members (specifically those on Constituent Council)
- Most importantly have fun and learn from everyone in APSA
The following are not rigid requirements but are reccomendations to being a great intern:
- Be easy to communicate with, know how to communicate well
- Know how to work Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms well
- Attend and take notes at every constituent council meeting. (We will schedule them so that you can make them)
- Assist with the planning and running of APAAC
- Help plan the quarterly Constituent Council events
- Outreach and maintain good standing relationships with all the APSA constituents and its members (specifically those on Constituent Council)

- Presence at all events and meetings
- Actively participate and contribute ideas
- Good working in a team!

- Plan and facilitate at least ONE event mainly of your own
- As in they provide idea and also plan execution etc
- Attend and assist with APAAC
- Outreach and publicize to APSA's constituent organizations

- Have a solid foundation for a general membership program that can be adapted in the future
- Put on at least 2 general membership events a quarter
- Genuine interest in molding the general membership program with Katrina
- Presence at all events and meetings
- Actively participate and contribute ideas

Publicity Internship
The publicity chair is the primary designer for APSA's posters, flyers, etc. as well as primary social media and website admin. We're looking for a publicity intern that is enthusiastic to learn these skills and ideally (but not necessarily) someone who's looking to become a publicist and replace Khue in the Winter.
Intern Duties:
- Help run APSA social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram)
- Update APSA website and Google Calendar, with Khue’s guidance
- Help pick up posters and other things, if necessary
- Work with to Khue design posters if possible
