Asian Pacific American
Awareness Conference

APAAC is our annual, one-day conference where we aim to bring awareness to Asian-American and Pacific Islander issues within the UCI and local community. The theme for APAAC 2017 is "Homescapes/Warscapes," inspired by the Asian American Studies speaker series of the same name.

30th Annual Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference (APAAC)

The Asian Pacific Student Association at UC Irvine has been holding the Asian Pacific American Awareness Conference, otherwise known as APAAC, annually for 30 years. As the name implies, APAAC aims to bring awareness about the Asian and Pacific Islander culture to UC Irvine and the greater Orange County area. Through workshops and keynote speakers, we hope to inspire members of our own community and educate anyone who is interested to learn more about Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

APAAC has been a venue to address many issues in our community, such as the generation gap and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues. It has also been host to folks such as Glenn Omatsu, Suman Pendakur, Beau Sia, among many others.
